Slovak Series of Poker on the Way: Kamarás Wins Two Events of Banco Masters
The busy summer period might have come to and end at the Banco Casino in Bratislava, but it’s far from over this this year when it comes to grand poker events! With the likes of the Coolbet Open, Winamax Poker Series, Poker-SM Live, and the Banco Masters some great events were presented to fellow poker players all across Europe. The most recent Banco Masters came to its conclusion last week, where Péter Kamarás took down the Main Event and the Pot Limit Omaha tournament back-to-back!
The popular Hungarian player collected € 35,906 with both victories combined, an extraordinary performance from a player who’s first cash dates back to 2006. It seems that he is on a huge run this year, having already collected 23 cashes in various live poker events across the world. This week it all kicks off at Banco Casino with the Slovak Series Poker. After its success of last year, a combined guaranteed prize pool of over € 500,000 has been set across a full packed schedule. Among these events, there is a € 300,000 GTD prize pool in the € 250 Main Event.
Well-Respected Kamarás Becomes 36th Banco Masters Champion
The Banco Masters is one of the tournament series of their own, having had numerous of similar events in poker history, it was this time a true valuable moment to be in the capital city of Slovakia. With only 1,282 entries, there would be an overlay of a whopping €37,500 in the Main Event! Many players from neighbouring countries managed to jump into the action last minute to make use of this great opportunity to try and make their €250 buy-in into thousands of Euro’s.
So did Hungary, which dominated the Final Table with three players. Péter Kamarás, who already had taken down the PLO tournament earlier in the week, managed to top the field and take down the whole lot after having made a deal with Austrian Dominik Matesa. It’s so great to see a player like Kamarás taking down such iconic event as he is already in the poker game since 2006. He is a well respected dinosaur of the poker felts all across Europe, and most definitely it is not the last act at the tables we have seen of him.

Slovak Series of Poker 2023 in Full Swing
For the 7th time in the poker history of Banco Casino it is time for the Slovak Series of Poker. Where it all started with a buy-in of €165 and a guaranteed prize pool of €100,000 in the Main Event, it has become a very popular tournament overall. Nowadays, the Main Event covers a guaranteed of €300,000 and a buy-in of €250, and it is the big question if this guaranteed will even be met. A good indicator was the previous Banco Masters which overlayed eventually.
However, with a whopping twelve starting flights, and one additional ‘flip&win flight, there is a chance to get yourself qualified for Day 2 until upcoming Sunday. Banco Casino offers festive poker series year in year out, but when we look at the history of the Slovak Series of Poker, the amount of entries always has been wandering around between 600 and 1000 entries. We can’t say it too often, but to make use of value in poker tournaments is key expand your success even more!
